Question

Not sure if there was ever a post on this, but any recommendation for cleaning the vinyl of arms and legs? For whatever weird reason, even though they have literally just been displayed for the last umpteen years a few of my dolls has like "dirty" spots on the vinyl....any ideas?

The "cleansing powder" AG sells (at least when I got the set 10 years ago) is really baking soda. Take a wet washcloth and wipe the face and limbs; then, pour a little bit on those areas and wipe it off. Just be careful around the eyes; I don't think baking soda will hurt the eyes, but you never know. Plus, my girls never like "soap" in their eyes!

I never have any baking soda when I've needed it, so I used rubbing alcohol on my Kirsten and my sister's PM Lissie. I just took a washcloth, tipped the bottle to get a bit on it and wiped my girls clean. I was really careful on their faces even though I'm not sure if it would even take off the coloring. Of course it smells strong when you use it, but it got off the grime that had settled in for the past 10+ years!

You get the eraser wet, then squeeze out all excess water. I've haven't tried it on my dolls, but it works great on the kitchen floor!

    Yes, it's that good.

It's safe for use on painted areas, as long a you don't scrub really hard. A gentle wiping is all it takes. It will remove years worth of grime in an instant.

I used the baking soda and the Mr clean on my makeover dolls. Felicity had a lot of marks on her. She came completely clean with these 2 products..

Yes! Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are the answer to everything! Well, except the red marks left by the club shoes... Still working on those.

Seriously, I've used Mr. Clean on my bitty's hair paint and everything with no damage at all! And the grime comes off in quite a satisfying way.
